But this morning I want us to look at something that has become a point of contention in our country in a new way Some of you know our history here. It's really been a point of contention for over 50 years and that is the subject of abortion the Ethics of abortion the right and the wrong of abortion. I Think many of you know that that is a big topic today If you paid attention to what's going on, you know that this argument has become really frontline news I was looking at some news articles yesterday thinking about jotting a few down for my message But there were just too many that were on the front lines that I was paying attention to Now the main theme or the main point of the message will really come down to one question Some of you are good at taking notes.

So I would encourage you to write this question down I want us to ask a question and I want us to answer the question and the question is this How does God feel about abortion? That's the million dollar question that we must ask. How does God feel? About abortion and then from there we will look at how we as Christians and as a church should respond To this question in the answer, but before we really delve into the subject in the question Let me share with you why I am taking the time here to look at abortion Really there were two that that just brought this to the surface for me First of all, it did come from my study with Mother's Day As I was studying different books and different verses and different Bible stories different people in the scriptures in the two weeks before Mother's Day the thought of addressing this subject just kept coming to my mind And I even kept making notes and pondering over the subject and I think that all of us would say that Abortion does in fact relate to Mother's Day But the second reason is this What is going on in our country?

What's going on in our land even with government officials today? The debate over abortion is really escalating more and more It's moved past the point of debate. The debate is on the verge of civil unrest. It's on the verge of even violence In case you don't know it the Supreme Court is in the process of reexamining Roe versus Wade that decision it was made in 1973 and this all comes out of a case that it comes from our own home state of Mississippi It's called the Dobbs case the Dobbs case or Dobbs versus Jackson's Women's Health Organization in this case is challenged the constitutionality of the 2018 Mississippi law that bans most abortions after the first 15 weeks of pregnancy in this Case has made it all the way through the system up to the Supreme Court Now as a result of all of these things we are watching an uncivilized debate Really rage in our land, especially in certain portions of our culture.

It's moved past the debate stage It's moved to the edge of civil unrest and impossible violence We have politicians and government leaders that are doing things that were unheard of Just a few years ago The thought of intimidating and threatening Supreme Court justices is something that really goes on in third world nations until now until now but before us as Christians more specifically as a church because we can't think about these things just as Christians We must think about these things as a church. We must ask the question How does God feel about abortion and to answer that question?

We're gonna have to perform a divorce Maybe more than one divorce We will have to divorce ourselves from the opinions of men and we must go to what God says in his word We can't think about what our parents or grandparents may think here We can't worry about our families that may live in New York or or on the West Coast We can't worry about what they think here.

We can't even think about the person We know who is dealing with an unwanted pregnancy So we must separate ourselves from what we think and we must separate ourselves from how we feel And we must separate ourselves from what other people think and what other people feel from our past Experiences and from the experiences of people that we know and we must find out what God thinks here We must find out how God feels here and we must do that by going to his word Now let me show you this automatically leads us to a test not a knowledge test It's a test to see that if you will submit yourself to the authority of God's Word God's Word is sufficient to address all of these matters and ultimately it is authoritative and if you move away from the authority of God's Word You're just gonna go down a black hole of all sorts of humanism and demonic feelings and thoughts about these things Now I want to show you how I'm going to answer the question and how I'm going to approach these things First I want us to see two facts from the scriptures not opinions facts and from those facts We will come to a conclusion about abortion and if you struggle with the conclusion I'm gonna state it and restate it several times and then we work We will address a few objections maybe some arguments to the contrary And this will lead us to answer our question.

How does God feel about the abortion? And then from there we will see how we should react I'm gonna list a few key points here. And of course you could add to those points of application So our first fact our first fact that we must see life begins at conception Those of you who take notes you need to write that down life begins at Conception now the question of when life begins has always been a big big part of the debate Many argue that life does not begin at conception They somehow argue or debate that life begins at some later point and in many ways medical advancement and medical technology things like the sonogram have proven what the Bible has already told us And that is what is there in the womb is life But for many the question of when life begins really plays a key role in how they think about the subject But according to the scriptures life begins at conception Now here is where we will go to the scriptures Now first I want us to see what we read earlier in Psalm 139 verses 13 to 16 Notice what David said For you he's talking to God here You form my inward parts You knitted me together in my mother's womb.

I praise you he's worshiping For I am fearfully and wonderfully made Wonderful are your works my soul knows it very well My frame was not hidden from you when I was being made in secret Intricately woven in the depths of the earth. He's speaking about the womb here For your eyes saw my unformed substance in your book were written every one of them The days that were formed for me When as yet there was none of them now here in Psalm 139 We see David being very very personal David expresses the great wonder in worship that he felt about the fact that God actually knew him David is amazed and he was praising God that God even knew great Details about him before he came into the world And if we look closely at verses 13 to 16 We will see that David explains to us when human life begins and how it came to be In verses 13 to 14 David praise God that by his power He was skillfully made in his mother's womb David expresses great wonder to God that he formed him in perfect beauty In verse 15 David says that although he was formed in the secrecy of his mother's womb God wonderfully and meticulously Formed him and then in verse 16 David said that God even saw him when he was still an Unformed substance I'm reading from the English Standard Version The scholars say this phrase unformed substance Refers to the very beginnings of human development and this would be what we call today the embryo or the fetus This word unformed substance speaks to that which is unfolded or Developed so David is saying that God saw him and God knew him even before he was developed in the womb And notice that this is a secret work This is a secret work David says that he was formed by God in his mother's womb in a secret place and in the depths and Notice that this is a personal work a personal work David said to God you You formed me in my inward parts you knit me together He says your works in the womb are wonderful and then notice this is a praise worthy work This is a praise worthy work David's heart was full of praise David's heart was full of worship all throughout these verses So it is easy to see that David saw himself as being formed by God in the womb Even when he was but an unformed substance in the secret the dark place of the womb David saw God as being there in personally doing this work Now second I want us to see this taught in the book of Jeremiah Jeremiah chapter 1 verse 5 of course these verses are famous for dealing with Jeremiah's call But that's not what I want us to focus on listen to what Jeremiah says in verse 5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you Sounds a lot like one Psalm 139 doesn't it before I formed you in the womb I knew you and before you were born I Consecrated you and I appointed you a prophet to the nations now here we see that God knew Jeremiah even before he formed him in the womb and In Jeremiah's case this knowledge and this work was unique here God was revealing to Jeremiah that not only did God know him before he was formed in the womb But that also he had a great and divine plan for his life But the emphasis I want to make here isn't about God's call for Jeremiah But on the fact that God was the one who formed him in the womb God was the workman who was forming Jeremiah there in his mother's womb And this is an echo of everything that we see in Psalm 139 verses 15 to 16 So it is easy to see that God revealed to Jeremiah that he formed him in the womb and that he knew him Even in the womb and of course that is only a part of what God revealed to Jeremiah So notice what we have seen here just in Jeremiah chapter 1 in Psalm 139 Notice what we see we see the fact that life begins in the womb more specifically at conception Now if we miss this in Jeremiah 1 5 we certainly see it in Psalm 139 Specifically verse 16 and we really need to take note of what verse 16 says David said that God saw and knew him even when he was this unformed substance the King James said substance yet being Unperfect or imperfect and that word that phrase unformed substance it speaks to that which is undeveloped in here it certainly speaks to what we would call the embryo or the fetus or that which is undeveloped not yet developed so before the human embryo that fetus is still not developed and When that fetus is this unformed substance?

It is clearly known by God and clearly formed by God Now at this point I'd like to give you an assignment now you've got lots of reading assignments this summer We're all in the book of James together. We're all in the book of Ecclesiastes together But if this piques your interest you need to read the book of Job see if Job did not understand these things he did As a matter of fact scholars believe that Job was one of the first books of the Bible written So fact number one fact number one not opinion number one life begins at Conception according to God and according to God's word now if you're having trouble with this fact the fact that life begins at conception The second fact that we're going to look at will solidify the first so these build together So our second fact and that is conception is a work of God Again if you're taking notes you can write that phrase down Conception is a work of God Now many of you expected me to say that life begins at conception You could have probably seen that coming but for some of you this phrase Conception is a work of God.

It might surprise you and Understanding this fact does two things First of all it sheds more light on the fact that life begins at conception, but second it takes us One step closer to answering the question and what's the million dollar question? How does God feel about abortion? And there's one important thing that we will see here and that is the reality that at conception We have this wonderful and great mystery Here we have one of the greatest Seeming contradictions in the Bible so if some of you feel like I'm getting on the edge of a contradiction just hold on I will explain it Now this is how we will look at this fact We will look at the fact that God at times Prohibits conception and also we will see the fact that God at times provides Conception so God prohibits God provides now to use some biblical language We will see that God closes the womb and then God opens the womb So first from the scriptures we need to see that at times God prohibits conception God prohibits Conception here.

I'm going to first Samuel Some of you are familiar with these verses verses 1 to 6. I will read some of them But I will zoom through some of them We know this story of Elkanah or Elkanah Depends on how you pronounce that Old Testament name Verse 2 says he had two wives Now pin and I had children, but Hannah had no children.

That's the context here verse 3 Now this man He used to go up year by year from his city to worship and to sacrifice the Lord of hosts at Shiloh Where the two sons of Eli Hothnai and Phineas were priests of the Lord And on the day when Elkanah sacrificed He would give portions to Penania his wife into all of her sons and two daughters But to Hannah this is her husband He gave a double portion because he loved her though The Lord had closed her womb and I'll stop there at verse 5 Now this is one of my favorite Mother's Day stories the story of Hannah Every year I find myself at Mother's Day back in these verses, but what do we have here?

We have a family we have a husband and you could see it. He had two wives now Let me pause here. This is what I call a sidebar sermon God never ordained these Old Testament patriarchs to have two wives. What in the world were they thinking? This was a pagan practice and these men did do this they adopted it from the world and God would allow it It's a testimony of God's grace God allows a lot of sin in his people, but that's what we have here. So this does not advocate for Two wives, but here we have this husband and we have this wife We have Hannah in verse 6 there it clearly says that God had closed her womb. Does it not say that?

But we also see this fact in Genesis chapter 16 in verses 1 and 2 Genesis chapter 16 verses 1 and 2 now Sarah Abrams wife we can get confused here because we know that God changed their names Usually when it says Abram I call him Abraham. That's just out of habit But Abram's wife had borne him no children She had a female Egyptian servant. This was Sarah's servant and her name was Hagar and Sarah said to Abraham be hold now the Lord has prevented me from bearing children What is she saying her womb was closed from God?

And then she goes on to adopt a pagan practice and she encourages Abraham to go in with her servant and to have Children with her servant again. That was a pagan practice But here in these verses we have one of the most famous and most godly Families of the Old Testament scripture Abraham and Sarah in here We see that God prevented Sarah from conceiving and bearing children You know, there's always someone that's a little bit of a skeptic in the room Kind of the devil's advocate You might say well, that's just the way that Sarah saw her situation.

No, that's what God said Sarah says it that's the way God said it and he said it through Sarah So so don't let that line of thinking enter your mind Now if we know the timeline of their lives notice this you know that Abraham and Sarah had been married for ten years So for ten years Abraham and Sarah had struggled with barrenness That means that God closed Sarah's womb and for ten years.

He kept her womb closed Now before I give us another example I want us to see a few commonalities between these two families and his family and Sarah's family First of all, both of these women understood that it was God that had prohibited them from conceiving and bearing children They clearly understood that God had done this Then second both of these women were godly women They were godly women even though Sarah did talk Abraham into having a child with her maid servant She was godly.

So both of them were godly and then third both women had godly husbands Of course, we know a lot about Abraham the fact that he was godly But Hannah's husband was a godly man as well And as a matter of fact, the text says that he had great love and compassion for Hannah because of her barrenness but fourth Both families were clearly following God's will for their lives Although they did make mistakes they did They didn't always understand what was going on for sure But they were clearly following God's will and God's plan for their lives Now what's my point about Hannah and Sarah? What's my point?

God closed their womb and He did this according to his plan He did this according to his will and plan and purposes for their life This had nothing to do with any sin This had nothing to do with some level of godliness or ungodliness and this may be hard for some to grasp here But their barrenness was actually a part of God's good and perfect plan for their life Now one more verse I want us to see here this one might be unusual for you you might not be as familiar with this story Genesis 20 Really everything in the chapter, but I'm gonna read just one verse for the sake of time verse 20 And then I'll excuse me verse 18 and we'll come back to verse 17 later Notice what verse 18 says for the Lord had closed all of the wounds plural The Lord had closed all of the wounds of the house of a bimilec because of Sarah Abraham's wife Now here in chapter 20 we have another one of Abraham's failures his mistakes Once before Abraham had lied about who Sarah was remember when he went down to Egypt But now he's doing this again you see Abraham had a problem with lying at times When the heat was on but here Abraham he had made a journey down to the southern border of Canaan And here he finds himself among pagans and he is among a pagan king of bimilec and in these events Abraham told a bimilec the king that Sarah was his sister and he did this trying to spare his life He just wouldn't trust in God Because of bimilec had taken Sarah to be his wife two things happen here.

God kept a Bimilec from actually taking Sarah as his wife God even visited a bimilec in a dream And he warned him that he was not to take Sarah And then second God had closed all of the wounds in the houses of a bimilec because of these events And that is what we see in the verse God closed the wounds of the house of a bimilec So we see in these examples and there are others we could look at that God prohibited conception He did this with both the godly and the ungodly the ungodly and the godly and it is Important to note this that these things were all done according to God's will according to God's purposes Yes, he prohibited conception in certain women's lives according to his will and plan for their lives But notice the other side of the coin Second from the scriptures.

We need to see that God provides Conception we need to see that that God provides Conception here's where I want us to go back to Genesis 20 verse 17 Verse 17 with all of these events finally did work themselves out God worked them out then Abraham prayed to God and God healed a bimilec and Also healed his wife and the female slaves so that they bore children He opened up their womb Here in this story of Abraham Sarah and the king after a bimilec Confronted Abraham about Sarah being his wife Abraham prayed to God and he asked God to heal a bimilec in his house The verse says that God healed his wife God healed the female slave so that they could bear children Simply God healed their barrenness.

He opened their wounds and he allowed them to conceive They also want us to see this in 1st Samuel chapter 1 This is the story and these events that we looked at earlier with Hannah 1st Samuel chapter 1 verse 19 to 20 They arose early in the morning and they worshiped before the Lord this would be Hannah her family It says that they went back to their house in Rhema And it says that Elkanah knew his wife and the Lord remembered her and in due time Hannah conceived and bore a son and she called his name Samuel Here in verses 19 and 20 I call this the rest of the story the rest of Hannah's story in God's time and according to God's purposes for Hannah God did enable Hannah to Conceive now notice something that I read in the verses the verses do not say that God did this work But it says that God remembered them But we can say that if God had closed her womb and it says it then God opened up her room when he remembered her and He provided her conception And then we also see this in the story of Ruth Now we know these events because we did study them on Mother's Day and I gave you a great overview of who Ruth was and the events that were going on here But we know who Ruth was She was the Moabite who converted to worshiping the one true God and I use that word converted But remembering the story we have Naomi and we have Naomi and her husband and we have her two sons And what does the text say in Ruth? they travel to Moab for survival in Ruth chapter 1 and While they were living in Moab her two sons took to Moab out wives one each Well after her husband died, this would be Naomi and her two sons died Naomi traveled back to Israel and Ruth her daughter-in-law in Existed ongoing with her.

That's when we see her conversion in chapter 1 But then notice and remember After Ruth arrived in Israel by God's good grace God provided Ruth with a husband. We know who that is That's Boaz and in the text we see that God gave her conception And notice one important fact in all of their circumstances All that I've read you when God enabled them to conceive It was a part of his greater purposes and greater plan for their lives For a bimic it was about God's testimony to him and for Hannah God needed a prophet so he enabled her to conceive to give birth to Samuel and for Ruth God enabled her to conceive because he was lining out the perfect family heritage for his promised Messiah So notice what we have seen here With just a few verses we have seen the fact that God prohibits conception and he provides Conception God closes the womb and he opens the womb he prevents conception and he provides conception Well again someone might be a little bit skeptical here Might be the devil's advocate in the room and you might be saying something like this Well pastor, I'm not sure about all of that, but I know my science Some of you might say something like this pastor I know all about the birds and the bees and I know how babies are made.

Well, you're right In Ruth chapter 4 verse 13 the text says that Boaz went in with her now That is the euphemism for physical sexual relations So you are right and see all of this leads us to this great mystery that we have here And to get a grasp on this mystery. We need to ask an all-important question Did Ruth conceive because she had relations with her husband Boaz or Did Ruth conceive because God gave her conception, which is it? The answer is yes It's both. It's not either or it's not either or it is both And so fact number two is this? Conception is a work of God.

It is according to what God's Word says not what man says Now look at the two facts that we've established from the scripture here. Listen to these two facts life begins at conception and Conception is a work of God and this leads us to a conclusion that we have to make God grants life Human life all human life is given by God Of course, this is a part of that great mystery that we have looked at earlier But when a man and a woman come together in physical relations and they conceive God then does what only God can do he gives life but more than Logical life he this is God he imparts the human spirit and this soul Just like he did with the first man Adam God himself breathes the breath of life into that human life that is conceived in the womb and it becomes a living being and man can become a living being only only if God imparts to him life or that eternal soul That living being even in the womb is made in the image of God Just like the very first man that was created in the image of God All who have been born since have been made in the image of God as well And by the power of his Holy Spirit It is God that imparts that soul into the child that he allowed to be conceived through what human physical relations And so this is our conclusion life begins at conception and that Conception is a work of God and that life is created in the image of God Yes, a man and a woman come together to conceive that child But it is God that imparts that soul at conception and that child becomes a living being at conception Now here's where I give you a challenge.

I challenge anyone to prove me wrong with the scriptures The scriptures See I told you this was a test about the authority of the scriptures Now you can tell me what man says or what science may say but prove me wrong with the scriptures Now before I move to some objections here maybe some arguments I Want you to see a tremendous lesson here This is a lesson that we need to see and this is a lesson that some of you really need to get And the lesson is this God is sovereign over all things He is in control totally he is in control of even barrenness and Fruitfulness and I'm talking about the room and see for some of you This is hard to believe for some this might make God out to be some cruel God But that's not the case.

No God is never cruel God is God and he does whatever he pleases and According to God's Word. He does whatever he pleases why according to his good and Perfect will he is sovereign over all things and the lesson for you and the lesson for me is this He allows these things into our life because he has a perfect will and plan for us So you need to get this God is in control over all of these things and if God is not in control of the womb.

He's in control of nothing Now I want to deal with a few objections here some arguments First argument the first objection would be this well that fetus that embryo is not life Well, we've covered that again read Job Go back and meditate over Psalm 139. That's one objection. Well that fetus that embryo is not life I argue otherwise God says it second objection It's not murder. It's not taking life because it's not been born yet Some say that it's not murder.

It's not murder because the baby has not been born yet Well, let's look at what God says about this Exodus chapter 21 verses 22 To 25 I'll read the verses for you When men strive together, this is a physical altercation some type of a physical altercation When men strive together and hit a pregnant woman so that her child come out.

It's a premature birth But there is no harm the one who hit her Shall surely be fine as the woman's husband shall impose upon him and he shall pay as the judges Determined but if there is harm then you shall pay life for life I for I tooth for tooth hand for hand foot for foot burn for burn one wound for wound Stripe for strike now we need to understand what's going on here We have the life of the innocent the one that's in the womb and the situation is this Somehow there are men that are fighting there's an altercation and then this situation One of them are all of them hit the pregnant woman so that her child comes forth.

It comes out This is a premature birth Well, if the baby is okay, then the guilty party is to be fine Is it not what the text says but if there is harm notice the biblical principle of retaliation is applied Simply the punishment was to match the harm that was done to the victim No more no less and if the baby died then the death penalty was applied Yes, if the baby died the death penalty was applied now, what's my point?

God saw it his murder Yes, the death penalty was applied to murder in the Old Testament This is the same punishment that is prescribed in Genesis 9 6 when God says and I'm quoting the verse Whoever sheds the blood of a man by man shall his blood be shed For God made man in his own image. That's capital punishment folks So look right here Although some would say that this isn't murder because the baby is still in the womb and is it born yet?

Well, God says otherwise He sees the unborn baby as human life and in this case where one causes the death of an unborn Well, God sees it as murder and the consequences were capital punishment The third objection Third objection that some might make well, it's okay if the baby in the womb is sick Not normal some type of an abnormality Well the scriptures deal with this as well Exodus chapter 20 or excuse me Exodus chapter 4 Verses 10 and 11 I'll read the verses for you But Moses said to the Lord all my Lord I am NOT eloquent either in the past or since I have spoken to your servant But I am slow of speech and slow of tongue Then the Lord said to him who has made man's mouth Who makes him mute or death or seeing or blind?

Is it not I the Lord now we need to understand what's happening here Here we have the events of Moses and where Moses is describing his lack of ability to speak Well, see the context here is that Moses is trying to weasel out of God's call on his life But in verse 11 God goes on to tell him that he made man's mouth God goes on to say that he actually makes man mute. He actually makes man deaf He is the one that makes man seeing and man blind. God is simply saying that God makes men that way Again, you might say this is unfair. No, it's not the case.

I Like what John Gill says here John Gill's a famous Baptist theologian and I'm quoting him he says the perfections of man's senses are from God and according to his good pleasure and then Gill flips the coin and the imperfections of man's senses are from God and according to his good pleasure And right here's where people can say why why would God do that? This is where some people could say isn't this Making God cruel. No, that's not the case God does all things according to his good and perfect will and pleasure Give you a New Testament reference here.

I won't read the verses I remember this when we went through the gospel of John John chapter 9 and Verses 1 to 3 when Jesus was healing the man that was born blind now born blind There was a debate as to how and why this man had been born blind the disciple said who sin whose fault is it? Well, Jesus plainly tells them that this man was born blind Why for God's purposes?

Yes, he was born blind according to God's good and perfect will So the conclusion must be this God allows sickness God allows abnormalities according to his good will and plan and of course This is dealing with another mystery because we also are affected by the fall That is the case To abort a baby simply because they may be sick or a doctor tells you there may be some type of an abnormality Well, it's the same as what we see in Exodus 21 It's murder Now at this point I want to revisit my conclusion Our conclusion must be this life begins a conception and That conception is a work of God and that life is created in the image of God Yes, a man and a woman come together They conceive a child but it is God and God alone who imparts a soul at conception and that child actually becomes a living human being at conception and To take that life in the womb is seen as murder and according to the Old Testament biblical principle of Valiation it's punishable by death And to take that life in the womb Even if that baby is sick, even if that baby is seen as abnormal it is seen as murder It is a creation of God and there are no mistakes here.

God allows these things According to his good and perfect will so it is plain it is murder and again This is the conclusion life begins a conception Conceptions a work of God and all that are conceived or created in the image of God It is God that imparts that eternal soul and to take that life from the womb. Well, God sees it as murder To even take that life in the womb if it is seen as sick or abnormal. Well, it is murder. That's what God says Well, this leads us back to the Theme the thrust the title of the message the question. How does God feel about abortion?

Here's where I want you to turn to a passage book of Proverbs turn to Proverbs with me Proverbs chapter 6 God answers this question plainly clearly Proverbs chapter 6 Really verse 16 to 19 all go together We're just going to focus on verse 16 to 17 Notice what God says here. There are six things that the Lord hates hates Seven that are an abomination abomination meaning it makes God sick verse 17 haughty eyes a lying tongue and hands that shed innocent blood Listen folks It's easy to answer the question You might say well pastor you could have cut the sermon a lot shorter It's easy to answer the question right here God tells us how he feels about abortion he hates it I Don't care what culture says Divorce yourself from what everybody else says he hates it To paraphrase what Matthew Henry says here God hates every sin He can never be reconciled to sin God hates nothing but sin But there are some sins which he does hate in a special manner.

Yes, God hates abortion in a special manner And I will add to what Matthew Henry was saying. Yes in a special manner God hates the shedding of innocent blood he hates murder Now why does God have a special hate for those who shed innocent blood It is because those who commit these sins are usurping God's authority They are playing God The first person that played God got in a lot of trouble It's because they are destroying that which God made God made in his own image Those who commit this sin are being just like Satan.

Yes Satan who was the murderer from the beginning listen all murder is satanic because what it's playing God It's destroying that which God created in his own image and especially the murder of the innocent God hates it God hates it Now a question I told you that I would ask us How do we react to abortion? How do we react to this in our day and in our time and all that's going on here? First of all, we should hate it Listen folks. We should always take what God hates We should hate adultery We should hate lying. We should hate stealing. We should hate homosexuality We should hate what God hates God hates sin.

Oh and especially Abortion and so we should feel the way God feels Then second we should oppose it look folks. There's no mushy middle You don't have to be a theologian to come up with this conclusion There's no mushy middle to come up with some type of a mushy middle is to play games with what the scriptures say And if you play games with what the scriptures say you deny its authority and if you deny its authority You go down this long deep black hole And we should oppose it Does that mean you pick it in front of an abortion clinic if the Lord leads you to? You shouldn't sin in doing it Should you pray for it sin?

Sure We should oppose it the way we oppose all sin If there was an adultery clinic in town, we would stand in front of it Third thing I want us to see is this God can forgive it God can forgive those who have had an abortion There might be someone in here this morning who's had an abortion There might be someone in here this morning that assisted somebody in having an abortion But listen God can forgive it.

I Remind you of our study through the Sermon on the Mount I Want to make a confession to you If you had an abortion you've committed murder But I've killed a lot more people than you have Remember God's standard if you've had angry anger in your heart You've murdered I've held bitterness in my heart Against people who have wronged me. Oh, I was in the right They wronged me and I held bitterness and anger and I murdered them according to God's standard So what I'm trying to show you is this God can forgive you just like he can forgive me.

We're all murderers And then fourth we should never mistreat or judge those who have had an abortion in a unique way They do not have the mark of Cain on them God can forgive them and then the fifth thing I want us to see in our reaction to abortion What happens to aborted babies What happens to aborted babies Aborted babies like all babies who die in the womb They go to heaven You might say pastor. How can you say that the scriptures teaches that and I said debated subject now I'm gonna talk about that more when we close But listen if you've had an abortion you've had a miscarriage you struggled here.

They are safe in the arms of Jesus David understood it David lost a baby and what did he say? He got up washed himself when he lost that baby. He said I'll see it one day He knew it was safe in the arms of Jesus. So How does God feel about abortion God hates it? We should hate it. We should oppose it God can forgive it. We should never mistreat those who have had an abortion and All aborted babies go to heaven and you can add to this list of how we should react
