Take your Bible this morning turn to two different places. I want you to mark The book of the book of James or excuse me Romans the book of Romans Romans chapter 5 and then I want you to turn to Genesis chapter 1 chapter 2 Should be easy for you to find these these verses Romans chapter 5 will be there later in the message And then we will start in Genesis chapter 1 we will be in Genesis 1 Chapter 1 chapter 2 chapter 3 right in that area at the beginning of the message Now in our study through the gospel of John if you've kept up we have we've come to the end of chapter 2 and We are staring right in the face of some of the most important Christian teaching in the Word of God I don't know if you know that but I hope that you will take note of that Remember that when we get into John 3 it is some of the most important teaching in all of the Word of God Now last Sunday we saw Jesus in a I called it a seeming great Evangelistic meeting and chapter 2 verses 23 through 25 Remember chapter 3 or chapter 23 excuse me verse 23 says that many believed in his name But we learned that Jesus would not entrust himself to them those crowds Jesus did not need man's testimony about man because the scripture says in verse 24 and 25 that he that's Jesus knew all men and he himself knew what was in man These people these crowds who had trusted in Jesus who were at the Passover as he preached and performed miracles They had superficial faith.

They were Unbelieving believers now as we were exploring that message last week I said that I was going to sound contradictory as a matter of fact if you were to preach this message declare these truths in a Lot of churches there would be red flags in the hearts and minds of many because a lot of people do not Understand the fact that we can have superficial Christians Unbelieving believers these are not truly Inverted people that's why Jesus would not entrust himself to them Now I want you to see something very important here in these verses This is not specifically spelled out in the text this that I'm going to share you with you But it's right here and listen close There are two testimonies in these verses chapter 2 in John verses 23 through 25 There are two testimonies concerning mankind You have man's testimony concerning man, and you have Jesus testimony concerning man What did Jesus say or what did John say concerning Jesus?

Jesus did not need man's testimony about man. So what do we see there are two testimonies two opinions of man there in the text I Don't know if you realize it but man has always been trying to give testimony concerning himself It happened in Jesus day and has happened all throughout history in ancient Greece Socrates taught his students to know thyself Others also taught that man could know themselves Aristotle who lived from 384 BC to 322 BC taught that the soul and the body were inseparable They were unified whereas Plato in 427 to who lived 427 to BC he taught that the soul and the body were separate but interrelated What am I showing you the ancient Greeks tried to study and understand man?

Not only did the ancient Greek Greeks try this try to understand man But what was going on in man, but in modern times modern man has tried to do the same thing in our day modern Psychology is essentially the journey to know man along that journey There have been hundreds of competing views which have sprung up each proposing theory after theory of man and their understanding of man Speaking of modern psychologists probably the most famous would be Sigmund Freud He said that man was driven by animalistic drives such as sensual desires and aggressive tendencies In Freud's teaching man is not sinful, but simply hedonistic and self-centered As a matter of fact Sigmund Freud taught that religion is nothing more than a mental illness Of course there have been others in modern times But from the ancient Greeks to Jesus day and to our modern times man has been trying to understand man Man has been trying to understand man teach you man is what man is and what man is about This is nothing more now listen than man's testimony concerning man It's see before we venture into John 3 and Jesus teaching on conversion.

We need to take a detour I've already told you that we would we must come to a biblical Understanding of man. We must find out the second testimony concerning man, which is God's testimony Concerning man God's testimony concerning man is true God's testimony is accurate and God's testimony is vitally necessary If we do not understand man, we can never understand John 3 Jesus interaction with Nicodemus and true conversion if we do not understand Man, we can never accept anything that Jesus teaches man One of the Bible commentators that I do read sometimes not all the time his name is a W pink.

He was a British Bible theologian There's a lot of things I like about a W pink I disagree with him on some of his views about the church, but I like what he said concerning this subject He says it is useless to preach Christ unto souls unless they see their desperate need of him What is pink saying? Man cannot understand Christ the gospel conversion true Christianity until man sees himself Accurately which causes him to see his desperate need of the gospel you see So in this detour away from the gospel of John We're going to look at this subject what the Bible says about man what the Bible Says about man now the title of the message this morning is the origin and the journey of man And I'll just go ahead and tell you in this this this journey through this subject what the Bible says about man We're gonna look at man from his origin all the way to his ultimate destination So the title of the message this morning is the origin and journey of man now I know a lot of you are writing the the message title down and the the main truths that we're going to explore but As you're doing that I want you to see that this is going to be a topical message this morning.

It's going to be topical All of these messages will be topical so that means that we will have primary texts But we will refer to other texts I would prefer that you jot those verses down those chapters and books down if you try to flip back and forth you can lose your Train of thought and you might not hear some of the truths that you need to hear so in your note-taking And I hope and pray that every one of you take notes for your own study Jot down these verses jot down these references go back and study on your own because I want you to To get with your ears and your mind and your heart open all that God wants to show us this morning So you see the title of our message The origin and the journey of man and you see that we're going to study the creation of man of course That's Adam and Eve the fall of man That's Adam and Eve and then the ultimate fall of all mankind or all humanity I asked you earlier to turn to Genesis, I'd like you to look there with me, and I'm gonna read us a few verses I want you to notice Genesis chapter 1 verse 26 this was after the creation of the world But notice what God says in verse 26 Then God said let us make man in our own image according to our likeness And then God goes on to say and let them rule over the fish See the birds of the air the sky the cattle and all over all the other things over the earth But what does it say in verse 27 and God created man in his own image in the image of God?

He created male and female he created them Let's turn on over to chapter 2 and let's pick up in verse 7 This is a little more detailed information about the creation then the Lord God formed man This was Adam that first man of the dust from the ground and he breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living being and the Lord God planted a garden toward the east and Eden and there he placed the man whom he had formed there in the garden and then if you continue starting in verse 15 Then the Lord God took the man and he put him in the garden of Eden to cultivate it and to keep it See in the verses that I stepped over we see that he had given him some specific commands Verse 16 and the Lord God commanded the man saying from the tree of the garden you were eat you may eat freely But from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat for in that day you eat of it You shall die and then from verse 18 on down it says that God created Adam a helper Her name was Eve and then what we see in verse 23 that first marriage ceremony and then verse 24 What do we see for this calls a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall cleave to his wife?

See that's what had taken place with Adam and with Eve and they shall become one in verse 25 says in the man That's Adam and his wife. That's Eve were both naked and they were not ashamed So what do we see? This is the creation story Obviously, I've left out some of the specifics that you can go back on your own But this is the creation of man now contrary to what so many believe today Man was created by God this truth is is just viciously attacked more and more Today and as the days are coming ahead It will be attacked even more and every time you and I hear the word of the phrase mother nature or anything that refers to Evolution it's nothing more than a frontal vicious attack on God the Creator Now I want us to look at some specifics about these Verses that I really want you to take note of first of all, I want you to notice who created God a man Who created man for that you want you need to go back to verse 26 in chapter 1?

What does it say then God said let us make man in our image according to our likeness? Notice in your scripture the pluralistic language This is none other than God the Father and God the Son How do we know that first of all in the original Hebrew language that is written here that language is plural? That's why in our English versions. It says us it says our it says our It's because as it was written it was plural Wasn't singular, but also we see in John chapter 1 verse 3. We've already studied this John says all things came into being by him. Who is that?

That's Christ Jesus So what we see is this verse in Genesis and John are Interrelated and that tells us that it was God the Father and God the Son who created man It's obvious right here in the scripture if you do a little study I want you to notice second how man was created again this comes out of the verse verse 26 I want you to notice that man was created by God's voice What does it say and God said but then also from verse chapter 2 verse 7? We see that man was created by God's hand because what does it say that God took some of the dust from the ground?

And he formed it so man was created by God's voice by God's hand But also man was created through God's breath Because what does it say then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and he breathed into his nostrils The breath of life and he became a living being so man was created through God's breath God simply spoke all of the other creation into existence I don't know if you realize that but in man this was very personal It seems like God puts a little more time into this why because God Created man and we will see he had a unique place in the creation So what do we see God was man was created by God's voice by God's hand through God's breath God simply spoke the other creation into existence, but God did not approach Adam in the same manner Third I want you to see man Was unique what was unique in man?

Notice what was unique in man go back to verse 26. What does it say and God said let us make man in our image according to our lightness Now notice some of that language in our image according to our lightness Notice what God the Father said to God the Son Man was created in the image and the likeness of God the Father and God the Son Nothing else in creation was created in God's image in God's lightness It was Adam that was formed and created in the image in the likeness of God and the image in the likeness of his son Fourth I want you to see why man was created why?

Man was created notice man was the first was first to be fruitful and to multiply Look at verse 28 We didn't read that in chapter 1 and God blessed them and God said to them be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth So man was created to fill the earth what to multiply second. He was created to care for the garden We saw that in chapter 2 verse 15 What does it say the Lord God took Adam and he put him in the garden to cultivate it and to keep it some Translation say to work it so man was to be fruitful and to multiply man was to care for the garden and then third we see in chapter 3 which we've not read in verse 8 and They they heard the sound of the Lord walking in the garden in the cool of the day and what do we see with that?

Third man was created to have fellowship with God Because after seeing into the picture that fellowship was broken and right after verse 8 chapter 3 We see that Adam was afraid of God But what do we see in that why man was created man was created to fill the earth to multiply He was created to care for the garden and the high fellowship with God. So what do we see?

We see this creation of man by God God the Father God the Son created Man was created in in God's image in the image and the likeness of God and yet we see God Personally active in this creation of God of man and man was created unique and he had a unique role in God's plan This is the creation story and not only who created man, but how and why God created man?

God took great pleasure in creating man And like I said earlier God spoke all of the other creation into existence But with man we see two parts of the Godhead and God more personally involved in the creation and also Notice that all of the other creation was inferior to man because it was at his disposal Man was the pinnacle of creation because God created man in God's image and God's likeness for a relationship with God unlike anything else in the creation I Said earlier that there are some who viciously attack this In 1859 Charles Darwin published his book on the origin of species Darwin was a British geologist and naturalist.

He popularized his theory of evolution which taught that species Originated from common s ancestry another term for this thought or this belief is called natural selection And within this system of thought man is not seen as a creation of God But as a product of evolution having evolved over millions of years changing and producing new species. What is this? This is an educated fool's way of attacking the creation of man by God But what Bible Christians believe is that the word is true and we reject this teaching and we hold on to the teaching of The word of God and you'll be surprised where you will hear this attack.

I Remember one of my seminary classes we had a teacher as teaching church history. I Don't remember the name I could go back in some of my old school notes and dig it up But I remember as he was teaching about these different theologians through the generations and he was teaching about this French Theologian and he believed and propagated and taught what's called theistic evolution What that is is a happy medium see God created but God used evolution. That's theistic evolution That's a little bit of truth and a little bit of a lie which makes a whole lot And I never forget is he is teaching and he gets into this Theologian who's propagating?

Theistic evolution he looked up over his glasses and he said boys there's a lot of truth in what this man says Well every preacher in the room stood up on pins and needles What am I showing you you'd be surprised where you will see a frontal vicious attack on the literal creation of man by God Well, it didn't take long before some of the other preacher boys in the class went on down to the New Orleans by the theological Seminary to wrap this individual out and he didn't come back Why because those who were in charge did not believe in theistic evolution? Now this is propagated in many different places. It's on television.

You can't sit down and watch a nice documentary About animals and nature why without hearing terms like mother nature in an evolution? Why because culture attacks the fact that God created man and We need to be reminded of God's or man's origin man originated with God We believe the scripture and face value as truth Second I want us to see the fall of man. Of course, this is Adam the fall of Man, let's pick up in chapter 3 And we're gonna read verses 1 through 13 What does it say there? They're Adam and Eve there in the garden They're doing what God commanded them to do verse 25 says they are naked They felt no shame.

It's because they were not in sin Verse 1 of chapter 3 now the serpent was more crafty than any beasts of the field which the Lord God had made And he said to the woman indeed has God said you shall not eat from any tree of the garden And the woman said to the serpent for the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat But from the fruit of the tree, which is in the middle of the garden God has said you shall not eat from it or even touch it least you'll show you shall die and The serpent said to the woman you shall not die for God knows that in the day you eat from it Your eyes will be open and you will be like God knowing good and evil Verse 6 and when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was a delight to the eyes and that The tree was desirable to make one why she took from its fruit and she ate and she gave also to her husband with her and he ate Then the eyes of both of them were open and they knew that they were naked and they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings And covered themselves with loin coverings Verse 8 and they heard the sound of the Lord walking in the garden in the cool of the day and the man and his wife hid Themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden and the Lord God called to the man He said where are you and he said I have heard the sound of thee in the garden And I was afraid because I was naked so I hid myself and he this is God He said who told you that you were naked?

Have you eaten from the tree which I commanded you not to eat and the man said the woman whom thou gave us to Be with me she gave from me from the tree and I ate and the Lord God said to the woman What is this that you have done and the woman said the serpent deceived me and I ate Now I want you to notice some information out of these verses Notice first that the serpent questions God to man Isn't that what he did he posed a question and what did he say did God say? Satan wants to deceive man.

He wants to deceive man and he wants to question God's Word leaving him in deception He knows that if he can get Adam if he can get Eve to question God's Word He is one step away from them falling Now I want us to break down some of these verses and again We will revert back to chapter 2 as well first I want you to notice there is a command there is a command back in verse 16 and 17 that we read earlier of chapter 2 The Lord God commanded the man. What did he say?

From any tree of the garden you may eat freely, but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil You shall not eat For in the day that you eat from it you shall surely die There is the command noticed in God's instruction There is the direct command not to eat the fruit as well as an explanation Of what will happen if he does he says you will die he gives them explanation Second I want you to notice there is the temptation Look at chapter 3 verses 1 through 4. What did he say did God say and what do we see in this temptation? I want you to notice the process in the temptation first Satan questions God's Word to Eve right away in verse 1.

What does he say? Did God say so he questions the Word of God to Eve? Second he contradicts God's Word in verse 4 and the serpent said to the woman you surely shall not die So what does he do he? contradicts the Word of God to Eve and then third he Misleads Eve in verse 5 for God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be open and you will be like God What was he talking about they would have a knowledge of good and evil, but it would be from experiencing sin So what did what did Satan do he misled Eve and in this?

Temptation even Eve even misquotes God because notice verse 3 What does Eve say in response to the serpent but from the fruit of the tree? Which is in the middle of the garden God has said you shall not eat from it or touch it Did God say not to touch it? No, he did not God said do not eat it So what we see in this temptation Eve even misquotes God by saying that God said not to touch it And what do we see there is a tremendous trout of temptation that is set Then third there is the disobedience look at verse 6 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was delightful There are that it was a delight to the eyes and that the tree was desirable to make one wise she took from it And she ate and she gave also to her husband with her.

See he was there and he ate as well Notice that Eve took debate. She fell for the temptation Notice also How her flesh was involved? What does it say? She saw it. She saw that it was good for food She saw that it was delightful. See it was pleasing to the eye She saw that it was desirable for wisdom for see she desired to be like God in her flesh By now in verse 6 is in full gear The temptation the trap that has been laid has worked because her flesh is fully inflamed to fall into disobedience And see it's not enough to see people this disobedience.

We must see the consequences of Their actions both Adam and both Eve and I want you to notice three things about the consequences There was judgment on the serpent chapter 3 verses 14 through 15 God judged the serpent did he not also there was judgment on the woman look at verse 16 of chapter 3 To the woman he said I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth in pain Yes, you shall bring forth children yet your desire shall be for your husband and he shall rule over you What is that? He's explaining that there will be contention in that relationship She will desire to rule him but yet he must rule her and what is this?

This is the judgment upon woman Then there was a judgment on man Look at verse 17 then to Adam he said because you listen to the voice of your wife and you have eaten from the tree Which tree about which I command you saying you shall not eat from it Cursed is the ground because of you see all of the creation was cursed Cursed is the ground because of you in Toil you shall eat of it all of the days of your life both thorns and thistles that shall grow for you and yes You shall eat the plants of the field by the sweat of your face You shall eat bread till you return to the ground because from it you were taken You are dust and to dust you shall return Now the man called his wife's name Eve because she is the mother of all living things and verse 21 says God took an Animal and he made skins and he covered them and then from verses 22 on it says that he banished Adam and Eve God did From the garden.

What do we see? There is a judgment on man. See death has entered the entire creation There was judgment on the serpent there was judgment on the woman There was judgment on the man and all of the earth was affected by sin Man that's Adam and Eve were forever changed verse 24 says that they knew good from evil Not that they were holy like God knowing good for evil and evil, but they had participated in sin They were banished from the garden from the tree of life and from the presence of God Man was a fallen creature prior to chapter 3 man was in perfect fellowship with God But now man is fallen See people we must understand this and If you are not fully convinced that Adam and Eve enjoyed perfect fellowship in a perfect world and then failed by that one sin Then you cannot receive any you cannot receive any of the word of God By faith if you do not believe this the rest of the word is mere hogwash to you See Adam became a fallen creature He had fallen from his proper place in the sin He would rebel and he was cast from his proper place in his proper relationship to God so what have we seen the creation of man and the fall of man and then Next I want you to see the fall of mankind the fall of mankind or if you're writing in your notes the fall of humanity For that I want you to turn over to the book of Romans Romans chapter 5 Romans chapter 5 Starting in verse 12 and let me as you're turning there.

Let me set this text up What Paul is doing is he's writing to the Romans is easy He's explaining the difference between being right with Christ justified by Christ and being in sin and being in The fallen condition, so there's this contrast going on so I'm going to read it all because we all need to hear it with our ears Therefore just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin So death spread to all men because all sinned the very loaded verse there for until the law For until the law sin was in the world, but sin was not imputed when there was no law Nevertheless death rained from Adam and ill Moses even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam And who in?

Who is a type of him who was to come but notice verse 15 on down? But the free gift is not like the transgression a contrast between Christ and Adam For by the transgression of the one that's Adam many died But much did but much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of one man Jesus Christ abound in the many verse 16 and the gift is not like that Which that came through the one who sinned for on the one hand the judgment arose from one transgression?

Resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the free gift arose from many transgressions resulting in justification That's Christ for if by the Transgression of one that's Adam death rained through the one much more those who receive the abundance of the grace and of the gift Of righteousness will reign in life through the one that's Christ Jesus Verse 18 so then as through one transgression there resulted Condemnation to all men even so through one act of righteousness There resulted justification of life to all men.

That's Jesus For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners even so through the obedience of the one That's Christ. The many will be made righteous now pause there Not only did Adam and Eve fall, but listen all of the creation was infected by sin from the fall Notice how quickly this truth is revealed.

I want you to listen in Genesis 3 man falls in chapter 4 Cain kills Abel in chapter 6 God says the earth was full it was corrupt in the sight of God and the earth was filled with violence Earth was so filled with sin that God destroyed the entire human race except for Noah and his family You see what I mean? all of mankind all of the world all of humanity was infected by this sin from the fall and Earth was ultimately destroyed.

So I want us to see from Romans how man how humanity is fallen First I want you to see man's sin is inherited Man's sin it is inherited Collogians say that Adam's sin was imputed or it was given to man Some of you might not understand that word imputed. It simply means that it was inherited It was passed down see in conversion Christ's life is imputed to man Christ's life is given to you or into man by Christ But in humanity Adam sin was imputed I give you a scripture that refers to that in Genesis Genesis 5 verse 3 it says that Adam had another son after Cain killed Abel And what does the scripture say in his own likeness according to his image?

You see that other son was born in Adam's likeness and in Adam's image sin was imputed Now I want to break down some things about this man's inheriting this sin Notice this is universal to all mankind that's all we saw in those verses That I read there in Romans in verse 12 in verse 15 in verse 18 in verse 19 What does it say to all men verse 12 to many verse 15 to all men verse 18 to many verse 19? What do we see this is universal to all? mankind Notice this results in condemnation we see that in verse 16 and 18 of chapter 5 What do we see when we go to the verse? What does it say it speaks of?

Condemnation it speaks of judgment in the gospel of John chapter 3 verse 18 We see this judgment talked about we see this judgment revealed because John says he who believes in him That's Jesus is not judged that he who does not believe in Jesus has been judged already Because he is not believed in Jesus. What is that talking about that is talking about the condemnation That is on mankind because they are in Adam Notice also this results in death. We see this in verse 12 and 15 and 17 of Romans chapter 5 What do we see in verse 12 death spread to all what do we see in verse 15 the many died?

What do we see in verse 17 death rain through the one what am I showing you? man's sin was and is Inherited all of mankind are born and they are born in the image of Adam that sin nature is imputed The second thing I want you to see is man's sin is personal Go back to verse 12 in chapter 5 of Romans Therefore just as through one man sin entered the world. There's the imputation and death through that sin, there's the condemnation and Death spread to all men. That's Universalistic now notice because all sin What is Paul saying?

Not only did man inherit a sin nature what not only was Adams sin imputed Not only was he born guilty, but he is guilty because of his personal sin Man is guilty through Adam sin, but guilty because of his own actions Because all have sinned a little earlier in Romans Romans chapter 3 verse 23 says for all that's all mankind Have sinned thus personal sin and fall short of the glory of God now.

What do we see in this? the fall of Adam Devastated the entire human race Adam sin was passed only all to all men to all humanity Adam sin was imputed to all mankind But it is very important for you to see if we do not understand this truth that Adam sin was passed down to all mankind There is no way we can explain the total corruption of all humanity This is the only way we can explain man's disintegration for man is constantly moving towards evil But not only do we see the imputation, but we see personal guilt man is chosen to sin man is guilty by his own actions Simply put this is double damnation man is damned because of the sin of Adam and man is damned because of his own actions Man is in a bad fix.

I want you to hear me people Anyone outside of a saving relationship with Christ it does not matter who they are It doesn't matter if it's our father our mother our sister our brother our children It does not matter what they know or who they are it does not matter about their heredity Anyone outside of Christ is double damned.

They're in the image of Adam, and they're in the guilt of their own sin They are condemned already John tells us in chapter 3 verse 18 They've been condemned in the courtroom of justice in the halls of heaven and listen to a language in John 3 18 says they're basically on death row You realize that You know in our culture when someone is convicted of a heinous crime and they're sentenced to death they go on what's called death row The judge is already pronounced guilt the judge has taken the gavel and pronounced the sentence and they are a dead man or a dead woman waiting That's what the the language is in John 3 18 man is condemned already who are outside of Christ And they are living on death row man is double damned Now as we begin to conclude the title of the message now notice the title again the origin and the journey of man All I've done is taken just a handful of scripture And I've shown you where man has come from and I've shown you the chart that man has said the journey that man has been On and man can theorize about his own origin man can journey to the moon and back and even the Mars one day But man's true origin is with God and man's true journey has been falling into pride and selfishness and lies and murder and violence and rape and adultery and homosexuality and slavery and war and genocide and dictatorships you name it Today man is even inventing ways to sin Man's journey has been to the land of rebellion against God at all levels and at all costs Today's wickedness is nothing new Genesis chapter 6 says that God destroyed the whole world because it was full of violence Genesis chapter 19 says that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of its reprobate homosexuality And listen people I want you to just step back in your mind and your heart And I want you to see the condition of humanity around us All of humanity is fallen in Any man any woman any young person outside of Christ is double damned Because they are born in the image of Adam and they are guilty because of their own sin and listen All you've got to do is let humanity loose and they'll do what humans are going to do because they are true to their nature You hear me?

Do not be surprised when you see mankind being true to their nature See people if we do not get what's taught here. We have a faulty understanding of man and We will revert now listen close. We will revert back to our understanding of man Let me show you how we do it You might love your mother or your father. You might love your son or your daughter But see we don't want to admit the worst and we will say things like this well, they're really a good person Really they they try they do their best. Oh, I know they're sincere See outside of Christ all those things are lies. They're not a good person.

They are not sincere Jeremiah says their hearts are deceitfully wicked above all things and left alone that man That person will always be true to their nature. There is no one good There is no one who does good all men are rebels against God and as soon as soon as God turned his back Adam and he sin and it has affected everything and everyone since See we all need to be shaken to the core. We all need to be gripped with this reality We all need to see the ugly black truth of it because if we do not see that men or women and young people are headed Towards the devil's hell.

We will not see the importance of the gospel One of the problems in our churches is we have taken people and we've given them the good news and the good news and the Good news and they've never seen the bad news No one will ever come to a saving knowledge of Christ until God shows them who they are You hear me? We need to shut down the eyes We need to shut down the invitations We need to shut down the good news and preach the truth of mankind Until men do like they did on the day of Pentecost and they cry out. What must we do? When you might say preacher it's just bad news nobody wants to hear it. It's not my news.

It's God's news It's not my book. It's God's book. It's not God's word It's God's word and if we fall into that line of thinking we will always revert back to man's opinion about man Him and we've all fallen prey to it See there's two three ways this is needed to be received today There's some of you sitting here right now. You're dealing with a lost loved one and you really have a hard time believing Really what they are?

Listen, you need to let the Word of God tell you what they are If you do not let the Word of God tell you if you do not let the Word of God tell you what they are You will not deal with them properly As a matter of fact, you might not even be praying properly You could be praying to God and praying to God and he'll be sitting there thinking you're praying amiss because you don't know the truth about You're a loved one See some of you need reminding so that you'll know how to pray so you'll know how to engage them So you'll know how to give them the gospel so you'll know how to tell them the truth You know what's funny we'll go to the doctor and we want the truth We'll go to the banker and we want the truth Really we'll go to the school teacher and we want the truth about little Johnny or little Susie We'll go to a lot of different places and we want the truth But somehow some way we don't want the preacher to stand up and tell the truth about our own loved ones But see also there are people here this morning you need to hear this truth Because this is you Listen we can dress man up We can shine his shoes We can comb their hair.

We can get them to adopt some manners say the right words But man will always be true to their nature See ma'am sir young person if you are outside of Christ Listen don't hide behind a facade of your upbringing Don't hide behind a screen of your Bible knowledge or what you've done let the truth of the word strip you bear and Show you who you are and if you really get a glimpse for one second of who you are It will break you to your core And that's the only way you will be led to a saving knowledge of Christ So what's the title of the message this morning the origin and the journey of man man's been on a terrible journey has he not But praise God there was another man Who had another journey in his name was Jesus?

Man's journey has been to rebel against God Christ his journey Was to fulfill God's purpose perfectly and he went to the cross See all through the verses in Romans 5 all we saw was Adam Christ Adam at Christ Adam at Christ What Adam did and what Christ did? The origin and the journey of man, let's pray I want to ask you to not really say anything or ask you to kind of clear your mind and your heart I Want to ask you to ask God to help you receive this this morning It's awful as it may be I Ask God to help you to receive it so you'll be better equipped
